State Representative Wayne Christian serves as President of the Texas Conservative Coalition in order to lead and strategize with other members in key conservative debates.  In 2009, Wayne Christian returned for his sixth session in the Texas House of Representatives serving District 9 of East Texas, which includes Jasper, Nacogdoches, Sabine, Shelby and San Augustine counties.  

He was also elected to the Policy Committee of the Republican Caucus. Recognized as a consistent conservative voter during this 80th session, Rep. Christian was praised by Texas Eagle Forum as one of the sixteen most conservative legislators and was given a 100% conservative voting record by Capitol Insider. He was also named a Taxpayer Hero by Texans for Fiscal Responsibility because he demonstrated a strong commitment to commonsense protections and responsible spending. Only 15 of 181 legislators earned that distinction.
