Tryon Lewis
State Representative Tryon Lewis, a native West Texan, was born in Kermit and grew up in Odessa. He attended Odessa College, UT Austin and Baylor Law School before returning to Odessa to practice law starting in 1973.
Representative Lewis took the bench as the 161st State District Judge in 1985, and served until his retirement in 2006. In 2008, he was elected to the Texas House of Representatives to serve the people of District 81; Andrews, Ector and Winkler Counties. He is currently a member of the Judiciary and Civil Jurisprudence Committee as well as the Committee on Public Safety.
Judge Lewis believes in serving his community and has been on the Boards of many organizations, from Meals on Wheels to the ECISD Education Foundation, the Permian Playhouse, and the Odessa Cultural Council to name a few. He is a former Chairman of the Ector County Republican Party and a former President of the Republican Men's Club.Â
Tryon and his wife, Trudy, have two daughters, Eleanor and Annie.

House Bill 2240
Prolonged domestic violence can have serious consequences for victims. Current law treats each instance of domestic violence as a separate case. Rep. Lewis authored and helped to pass HB 2240 which creates stronger penalties for multiple cases within a one year period, strengthening protection for the victims of domestic violence.
