Tim Kleinschmidt
State Representative Tim Kleinschmidt was elected to the Texas House of Representatives in 2008. Kleinschmidt is a Lee County attorney, rancher, family-man and civic leader serving Texas House District 17, which includes all or parts of Bastrop, Burleson, Colorado, Fayette and Lee and Brazos counties.Â
A longtime city attorney for the cities of Giddings and Lexington, Kleinschmidt has practiced law for 27 years in Central Texas. He is a member and president of the Lee County Bar Association. He also belongs to the Lee County Farmers Co-op, the Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, the Texas Wildlife Association as well as numerous other organizations.Â
A lifelong resident of Lee County, Tim was raised by two public school educators. The Lexington High School gymnasium is named for his father, A.P. Kleinschmidt, a legendary local school superintendent. Tim and his wife Anna raised their three children in Lee County and sent them to Lexington public schools.Â
