Representative Linda Harper-Brown authored and helped to pass HB 2291, which increases public awareness of changes in property tax rates. This important tax transparency bill will help home and business owners keep their property taxes in check.

Representative Harper-Brown was first sworn into the Texas House on January 14, 2003.  Throughout her tenure as a State Representative, Linda has continued to focus on finding fiscally responsible solutions for our state budget, protecting Texas jobs, keeping Texans moving on our roadways, and finding ways to repair Texas' education system.

House Bill 716 would phase-out the franchise tax, freeing businesses from burdensome cost and compliance issues.  According to a Beacon Hill Institute study, the state could benefit from tens of thousands of new jobs & billions in investment.
